Halloween Costume Store Opening In Former Borders Building
The 22,000-square-foot Halloween Express is opening in the Brandon Crossroads shopping plaza and features more than 20,000 items.
Ghosts and ghouls take heart a large Halloween costume store is opening Thursday, Sept. 1, at Brandon Crossroads.
The 22,000-square-foot Halloween Express is taking over the former Borders store in the shopping plaza on Lumsden Road, just north of Providence Road.
The Brandon bookstore , part of the company's move to liquidate 200 of the company's 659 stores.

Borders' loss is Carol Christian's gain. The Tennessee business woman said she couldn't be happier with the new location.
"It's close to the mall, close to the highways and it seems like a really nice town," said Christian, who works with her husband, Jeff, on seasonal fireworks stores.

The Christians bought a franchise from Halloween Express for Hillsborough County. With more than 20,000 items in the store, she believes it will be one of the largest, if not the largest, Halloween supply store in the county.
“We will see how it goes this year but who knows, we may want to come back here at Christmas or next Halloween.”
Halloween Express is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, noon-6 p.m. For more information, call 813-685-2700.
The opening is good news for , which saw , and close their stores in the plaza in the last year.
The Halloween store will close soon after the holiday Oct. 31. The future of the store after that is unclear. The owner of the building, Cedarwood Development, did not return phone calls.
