Highway Patrol Seeks Hit-And-Run Driver Who Killed Dover Teen

The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the public's help in identifying a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 13-year-old.

DOVER, FL - The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the public's help in identifying a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a 13-year-old Dover boy dead.

Troopers were called to the intersection of State Road 574 and Mott Road at about 7 a.m. Sunday, May 6, and found the body of Jesus Navarro, a Turkey Creek Middle School student, in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators obtained a surveillance video from a nearby retailer that shows the crash occurred at 12:33 a.m. From evidence collected at the scene, troopers know the vehicle involved is a black or dark blue 2011-2016 Ford F250 XL Super Duty pickup truck with left headlight and left front fender damage was involved in the hit-and-run.
