Hillsborough County Jail Inmate Dies

Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives are conducting an investigation into the death of an inmate at the Falkenburg Road Jail.

TAMPA, FL — Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives are conducting an investigation into the death of an inmate housed at the Falkenburg Road Jail.

On Oct. 19, inmate Gerald Michael Souders, 61, suffered a medical episode and was brought to Brandon Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Souders had a preexisting medical condition.

The cause of death will be determined by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner.
