ICYMI: Tampa Bay's 1st Portillo's Hot Dogs Opens Soon

The official opening for the restaurant's first Tampa Bay location is set for Tuesday.

BRANDON, FL — Tampa Bay area residents eager to chomp down on a real Chicago hot dog don’t have too much longer to wait for Portillo’s to open the doors on its first Florida location.

The Illinois-based eatery has announced its Brandon location at 1748 W. Brandon Blvd. will begin serving hungry customers on Tuesday, April 12.

“Our Brandon restaurant will feature a 1930’s prohibition theme,” the restaurant announced on its website. “It will also have a double drive-thru lane to accommodate as many cars as possible.”

The chain got its start with a single stand outside Chicago in 1963. Today is serves up all-beef hot dogs, burgers, salads and more at locations throughout Illinois, Indiana and in Arizona and California.

Once open, the eatery plans to start serving customers at 10:30 a.m. daily. For more information, visit Portillo’s online.
