Input Sought On U.S. 301 Widening Proposal
An upcoming public hearing will focus on plans to widen the stretch of U.S. 301 from State Road 60 to Interstate 4.

BRANDON, FL — Motorists who want to have their say on a proposal to widen U.S. 301 from four to six lanes will get their chance early next week.
The Florida Department of Transportation has announced a public hearing for March 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The hearing will take place at the Sheraton Tampa East Hotel, 10221 Princess Palm Ave.
Up for discussion is FDOT’s Project Development and Environment Study for the proposed improvements. FDOT is considering widening the stretch of U.S. 301 from State Road 60 to just south of Interstate 4 from four to six lanes. The aim of the proposed project, which would span nearly 3.3 miles, is to ease traffic congestion, improve evacuation times and provide safer access to homes and businesses, FDOT explains on its website.
