John Morgan Not Giving Up on Medical Marijuana: Are You?
The prominent attorney says he's taking the fight to Tallahassee

Just because Amendment 2 failed to capture the required 60-percent of the vote to become law doesn’t mean the fight is over.
John Morgan, the prominent Orlando attorney whose “For the People” ads are commonplace all over the state, has vowed to take the battle straight to Tallahassee.
“Tallahassee politicians can ignore polls and ignore activists,” Morgan was quoted by The Ledger as saying. “They cannot ignore a clear majority of Florida voters. We will not be ignored.

Morgan was an outspoken proponent of Amendment 2 and helped bring the issue to the Nov. 4 ballot.
“Fall down 7 times,” Morgan wrote on his Facebook page Wednesday. “Get up 8. I am up. The fight goes on.”

Amendment 2 received a majority vote, but it did not capture the 60-percent margin required for amendments to pass in Florida.
According to Florida Division of Elections unofficial results, the measure garnered 57.58 percent of Tuesday’s vote, which adds up to 3,357,543 in favor of the measure. The opposition cast 2,473,608 votes against it, which adds up to 42.42 percent.
If the measure had passed, marijuana would have been made legal for use in certain medical situations.
Rather than amend the constitution, Morgan’s aim now is to get the state Legislature to pass a law that would make medical marijuana use legal during the 2015 session.
