Ken Hagan Admits to Ethics Violations
The admission follows an investigation prompted by a Dover resident.

Hillsborough County Commissioner Ken Hagan has admitted to violating state ethics laws.
It seems the former commission chairman failed to fully report all of his stock investments on yearly financial disclosure statements for the last few years, The Tampa Tribune reported.
An investigation into Hagan’s filings was launched by the Florida Commission on Ethics following a July complaint from Dover resident George Neimann, the paper reported.

Hagan has agreed to file amended reports that fully list all investments and will pay a $2,000 fine, the Tampa Bay Times reported. The agreement signed by Hagan must be approved by the full ethics committee, which meets Friday, the paper reported, adding that acceptance is likely.
At first, Hagan brushed off Neimann’s complaint, but reviewed the laws and realized he was in error by not fully itemizing his investments, the Tribune reported.

“After receiving the complaint, I reviewed the statutes and, unfortunately, I had been filing my disclosure incorrectly,” Hagan told The Tribune.
