LA Fitness to Replace Old Publix at Brandon Blvd. Shoppes

A Valrico retail plaza that once housed a will soon be home to an LA Fitness Center, TBO.com reports.

The former Publix at Brandon Blvd. Shoppes, at the northwest corner of State Road 60 and Valrico Road, will be transformed into an LA Fitness by the end of the year, according to the news site.

And that's not the only change for the once half-empty shopping center, which Publix vacated in September 2011 to move across the street.

A new Dollar Tree store is now open in the plaza, TBO reports, joining a Subway, Master Cleaners, Mimi's Nails and Fantastic Sam's, AmScot and Zaxby's fast-food chicken.

The former Blockbuster video rental store has also been transformed into a Mattress 1.

There currently is one other , at 2890 Providence Lakes Blvd.
