Landlord Took Peeping Tom Status to the Next Level, Cops Say
The Lakeland man is accused of secretly recording a female tenant in her bedroom.

A 35-year-old Lakeland man stands accused of rigging cameras in a female tenant’s room so he could secretly record her in various states of undress.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the 23-year-old woman discovered an elaborate camera setup in the room she rented from the man on Thursday.
“The victim was turning on a television when she pushed a button on the remote control that changed the television input to ‘computer.’ At that time, the victim saw a live image of her own bedroom on the television,” the sheriff’s office said in a media release.

When deputies arrived at the Briarbay Loop home, they “dismantled an extensive hidden video recording system in the woman’s bedroom, which was connected to a DVR and personal computer,” the release said.
They also found two pinhole cameras in the woman’s room. One was hidden in a smoke detector and the other in a cable access plate.
