Man Killed When Car Gets Stuck On Tracks, Hit By Train In Dover

DOVER, FL -- A driver was killed Sunday night when his car was struck by a train in Dover Sunday.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the driver, whose named has not been released pending notification of next of kin, was driving across the CSX Railroad tracks at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Sydney-Dover Road around 11 p.m. on March 10 when the car got stuck on the tracks.

The driver exited the car and was attempting to free his vehicle when an train struck the car, which then struck him. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
