New Coronavirus Testing Sites Scheduled To Open In Brandon

Brandon, Wimauma and Sun City Center will open new coronavirus testing locations, the Hillsborough County Emergency Policy Group said.

BRANDON, FL — Brandon residents are scheduled to have more coronavirus testing sites open in the near future.

The Hillsborough County Emergency Policy Group met on May 28 and said that the new testing locations could be open as soon as next week. The Florida Department of Health in Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County are partnering with health care providers to open the new sites.

Wimauma and Sun City Center are other Hillsborough County locations that will open new coronavirus testing sites that could also possibly be established as soon as next week.

Group members mentioned during the meeting that public testing sites such as Raymond James Stadium and the county's three community resource centers will offer free testing and no insurance will be required from residents.

Since the middle of March, four public Hillsborough County sites and a mobile testing program in the area have collected more than 20,600 tests.
