New Fire Station Under Construction In Brandon
County leaders are putting a greater fire rescue presence in Brandon as the area continues to quickly expand with residents.
BRANDON, FL — Brandon will have a new fire station by next year, said Hillsborough County officials.
Construction began Thursday on the new site, 1209 Oakfield Drive, that will house 24 personnel, including a battalion chief, an engine company and an ambulance rescue crew, said Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
It also has three new apparatus, including an engine, a rescue vehicle and a battalion chief vehicle.

The new station will be operating out of a temporary building near the new site at 307 Pauls Drive later this year.
According to county officials, Brandon is one of the fastest growing areas in Hillsborough, and county leaders see a need for a larger fire rescue presence in the area because of this.

The crews will work 24-hour shifts and be on rotation every third day.
