New I-75 Exit to State Road 60 Opens
Motorists are urged to use caution until they become accustomed to the change.

Update Oct. 20, 9:26 a.m.: The Florida Department of Transportation has issued a correction in its earlier release on the new exit’s opening. The exit is just over one-half mile north of the previous exit, about 1.5 miles south of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard exit.

Drivers accustomed to taking southbound Interstate 75 to State Road 60 are going to notice a big change. A new exit has opened that’s about a half-mile north of the old one.

The newly built exit officially opened to traffic Friday morning.
“Motorists should be very alert to the changed conditions in order to not miss the exit,” the Florida Department of Transportation wrote in an email to media. “The exit point is about 1.5 miles south of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard overpass (Exit 260).”

With the exit now open, southbound I-75 also returned back to its preconstruction alignment. Motorists, however, are warned that work remains to be done so the lowered 60 mph speed limit still stands.
