One Man Found Dead, 2 People Hurt In Brandon Home: Police

Three people were at a Brandon home when gunfire between at least two acquaintances killed one and left two injured, authorities said.

BRANDON, FL — A man who was dead from a gunshot wound at a Brandon home on Saturday night apparently shot two aquaintances who survived with injuries, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies arrived at the home in the 4000 block of Forecast Drive after 9:30 p.m., and spoke to two victims who were conscious with gunshot wounds. One of the victims the deceased had injured shot him during the incident, said police.

All three of the individuals knew each other, and the cause of the shooting is still under investigation.

The victims were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries. Their current medical status is unkown.

Police have not released the names of the victims nor have they released any further descriptive details of the victims or the possible motive.

"While we do not believe this shooting was a random act of violence and there is no threat to the public, we are conducting a thorough investigation to determine what led up to this incident," said Sheriff Chad Chronister in a news release.
