Online Shopping Made Safer by Hillsborough Deputies

The county offers four locations for people to complete their online transactions.

Hillsborough County residents looking for safe places to complete online transactions in time for the holiday season will find the sheriff’s office is eager to help.

The agency has announced that it is offering the use of its four district office parking lots for people to meet up to conclude purchases made online. Dubbed the Holiday Safe Sale program, the offer is being made to curb safety threats for those who plan on buying directly from individuals they don’t know.

“Currently, the parking lots are often used for parental exchange of children involved in civil custody issues; it only makes sense to offer up the parking lots for these web or classified ad transactions,” the agency announced in an email to media. “After all, the parking lots are well-lit and offer videotape coverage.”
