Pedestrian Killed In Possible Brandon Hit-And-Run Crash

The accident happened Friday night on Central Drive near Brandon Boulevard.

BRANDON, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is asking witnesses of a possible hit-and-run accident in Brandon to come forward.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to the area of Central Drive, north of Brandon Boulevard, around 9 p.m. Friday in reference to a possible hit-and-run. When they arrived, they found a man in the middle of Central Drive injured. The man was transported to Brandon Regional Hospital, where he later died.

“Detectives are still trying to determine positive identification on the victim,” the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media. “It appears the victim could possibly be a transient. The victim was also discovered to be in the possession of methamphetamine.”
