Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Lumsden Road Crash
Deputies say he entered a crossing when the signal read "Don't Walk."

A 39-year-old Valrico man suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday when Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies say he was struck by a vehicle on Lumsden Road.
The incident happened around 9:50 p.m. as Justin M. Clay was walking east on the south sidewalk of Lumsden Road. Clay, an email from the sheriff’s office stated, entered the intersection of John Moore Road while the pedestrian signal still read “Don’t Walk.”
Clay was struck by a 2006 Toyota Scion driven by Wen Qi Xiong, 43, of Brandon, the email stated. The car was traveling north on John Moore Road at the time.
