Can You Help Troopers With Information Involving A Fatal Hit-And-Run Dover Crash?

The Florida Highway Patrol is asking the public's help locating a car that killed a man working on his car after it broke down on U.S 92.

DOVER, FL —Troopers are searching for a Mercury Grand Marquis that hit and killed a Plant City man working on his car Monday night, Florida Highway Patrol said.

A 56-year-old man whose car broke down in a U.S. Highway 92 westbound lane near Meadow Oaks Drive stood outside his vehicle working on it about 7:49 p.m. Monday night, according to authorities. The Marquis drove on the shoulder passing the disabled car, and hit the man, investigators said. Police said the car is believed to be a 1999-2002 silver or tan Marquis with left front damage and a missing headlight.

The victim died at the crash location, detectives said.
