Portillo's to Bring Hot Dogs, Jobs to Brandon

The famous Chicago hot dog eatery is making a move into the Florida market.

When the Tampa Bay Lightning fell to the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals, a Windy City-based hot dog chain promised Bolts fans would get a tasty consolation prize in the near future.

In keeping that promise, Portillo’s has officially announced the opening of its first Florida location. That store will be located on the northwest corner of State Road 60 and Lakewood Drive in Brandon. It has a planned opening of March 2016.

“Our Brandon restaurant will feature a 1930s prohibition theme,” the restaurant announced on its website. “It will also have a double drive-thru lane to accommodate as many cars as possible.”
