Forecasters at the National Weather Service’s Ruskin office anticipate a rainy weekend ahead. Rain chances are up in the 60 percent range for Saturday and are only “a little bit less” for Sunday, said meteorologist Tom Dougherty.

“The main thing is thunderstorms,” he said. “There are good chances every day.”

While rain is quite likely to fall, Dougherty said it probably won’t cool things down too much either. The weekend highs are anticipated in the low 90s with lows in the mid to upper 70s.

Weather should begin to clear out in the early part of the workweek, which also happens to be the first week back at school for most public school students in the Tampa Bay area.
