Residents Displaced Following Electric Fire At Brandon Apartment

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was called to a fire at the Reserve of Brandon apartments Friday night.

BRANDON, FL — The Red Cross has been called in to assist families who were displaced following an apartment building fire in Brandon Friday night.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue's dispatch center received a 911 call at 9:54 p.m. reporting smoke in the hallway at an apartment building at the Reserve of Brandon, 2002 Plantation Key Circle, near the Brandon Parkway, according to a news release from the agency.

Engine 45 was the first on the scene and reported smoke coming from the exterior and a bottom-story apartment.

It took firefighters 12 minutes to douse the fire. There were no injuries, the fire rescue said.

Hillsborough Fire Rescue said the cause of the fire was electrical. It started in a first-floor utility closet and then climbed up the exterior wall of the building.
