Reward Offered in I-4 Shooting

As Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies continue to search for those responsible in a Friday morning shooting that closed a portion of Interstate 4 for a time, Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay has stepped forward with a reward.

Anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the person or people involved in the shooting is eligible for a reward of up to $3,000, Crime Stoppers reported.

The crime in question unfolded around 12:15 a.m. Friday when a white Nissan pulled up alongside of the victims’ vehicle and fired bullets inside, striking the male driver and a female front seat passenger, the sheriff’s office reported. The vehicles were traveling east on I-4 in the Seffner area at the time.

A male passenger in the back seat was uninjured.

Following the shooting, the suspects fled.

Deputies say both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Investigators do not believe the shooting was random. The identifies of the victims have not yet been released.
