Riverview Man Charged in Brandon Area Shooting

A 25-year-old Riverview man faces aggravated assault with a firearm charges after Hillsborough County deputies say he fired several rounds at a man.

The incident unfolded at 2123 Bloomingdale Villas Court around 10 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies say Corey Keller of Riverview and another man approached Anthony Dietz and wanted to fight.

A large group of bystanders stepped in and stopped the fight from happening, an email to media from the sheriff’s office stated. Keller and the other man left the scene, but not before Keller is accused of firing several rounds from a handgun at Dietz, the email said.

No one was injured, but a vehicle was struck, deputies say.

Keller was brought into custody shortly thereafter.
