Seffner Man Arrested After Fatal Shooting
A 19-year-old man died following the Saturday morning altercation at a Gibsonton intersection.

GIBSONTON, FL — A Seffner man faces criminal charges after a dispute at an intersection in Gibsonton turned deadly Saturday morning.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, a fight between people in two separate vehicles broke out at the intersection of Sassey Court and Cujoe Lane in Gibsonton around 12:45 a.m. At some point, Marco Antonio Roque got out of the vehicle he was in and approached the other with a baseball bat in hand, deputies say.
“Roque walked over and proceeded to strike the front windshield of the other vehicle, shattering the glass,” an email from the sheriff’s office said.

James Thomas Dormany, 26, was inside the vehicle struck by Roque’s bat, the sheriff’s office said. Dormany is accused of pulling out a handgun and shooting Roque at least once in the upper body.
“Roque managed to get back into his vehicle,” the sheriff’s office noted. He was taken to a local hospital, but later died.

During the course of its investigation, deputies say they learned Dormany is a convicted felon. He was subsequently charged for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The investigation into Roque’s death remains active. Once it is completed, the case will be turned over to the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office to make a final determination on charges, the sheriff’s office said.
Roque had no known address, the agency noted. It is unclear what the two groups of people were arguing about. Deputies did say the two groups knew each other.
