Selmon Expressway Reversible Lanes: Gasparilla Schedule
The reversible express lanes will operate on a special schedule for the festivities in downtown Tampa.
BRANDON, FL — Tampa Bay area motorists who use the Selmon Expressway to get around might want to take note of some changes in store for Gasparilla weekend.
The reversible express lanes will open westbound, toward Tampa, at 9 a.m. Saturday and will then reverse toward Brandon starting at 3 p.m. Those lanes will continue to run eastbound to Brandon until 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, when normal operation resumes, the Tampa Hillsborough County Expressway Authority noted in an email to media.
Gasparilla 2016 festivities kick off on Friday with a charity concert. The Gasparilla Parade of Pirates invades Bayshore Boulevard and downtown Tampa on Saturday afternoon.
