Sheriff Investigates Death Of Falkenburg Jail Inmate
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 42-year-old inmate at the Falkenburg Road Jail.

TAMPA, FL -- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 42-year-old inmate at the Falkenburg Road Jail.
Just before 9 a.m. on April 5, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue was called to the jail after inmate Alstin Greggory Guice became uncontrollable. According to detention deputies, he became combative and tried to force his way out of his cell. He was taken to the infirmary in an attempt to calm him and, shortly after, appeared to be in medical distress.
After jail medical staff and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue personnel stabilized Guice, he was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he died at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9.

The cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy by the medical examiner.
Guice was arrested April 4 by the Tampa Police Department for violation of a domestic battery injunction.
