Sheriff Releases Name Of Woman Fatally Shot In Orient Park

Hillsborough County deputies are asking for the public's help to track down a shooter who killed a woman in the East Lake-Orient Park area.

TAMPA, FL -- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on the shooting death of a woman Friday, Sept. 7 in the Orient Park-East Lake area of Tampa.

Hillsborough County deputies were called to a home in the 3600 block of Sugarcreek Drive, Tampa, just before noon after receiving a report of shots fired.

When they arrived, deputies found Evelyn Christina Chambers, 35, shot to death inside the home.

A friend at the home heard the gunshots and called 911. The shooter fled before deputies arrived.

Chambers was the mother of two daughters, ages 18 and 15, who were not home at the time of the shooting. Detectives believe the shooting was an isolated incident. They are currently following up on leads to identify the shooter.
