Sheriff's Office Hosts Drive-Thru Trick-Or-Treat Event

Families can have some social distancing Halloween fun at the drive-thru Halloween event hosted by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

BRANDON, FL — The annual trick-or-treat event hosted by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will be different this year because of the coronavirus pandemic. Instead of a face-to-face event, the sheriff's office will have drive-thru trick-or-treat fun for families.

Families are invited to visit their local Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office district where they can arrive in costumes, wave from the vehicle as deputies give small bags of candy through the car window.

Families are asked to remain in their vehicles to maintain social distancing.

"It's been a challenging year for all of us, and the changes we've had to make to our lifestyles have been especially difficult for our children,"Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "We want them to enjoy Halloween in a safe way that still allows them to wear their costumes, get treats, and spend quality time with their families."
