Board Meeting: Stacy White conspires to block Audit Vote!

In a move that could be described as blind obedience to Mother Elia, school board member Stacy “Sepulcher” White voted to preserve Superintendent Elia’s stranglehold on the school board by acting to delay the vote on the audit until her 4 voting block board members are present to vote against it. The vote was supposed to take place at this Tuesday’s board meeting but will now be delayed for the connivance of Elia’s voting block.

But wait, there’s more! A “special called” board meeting was held to pull off this maneuver. The special called issue was declared only hours before the meeting was held- just last Tuesday June 17! How’s that for no public notice.

And as you can probably imagine Stacy White made the motion to delay the vote and it was then passed by Elia’s voting block of Stacy White, Doretha Edgecomb, Carol Kurdell and Candy Olson.

Keep in mind that if the other 3 non-Elia board members were the ones that were going to be absent then it would not have mattered one bit and these other 4 Eliabots would have been happy to proceed without them.    

What is particularly farcical about this school board is that the original vote to consider hiring an auditor that would ANSWER TO THE BOARD took place at the June 10 board meeting where ALL SEVEN BOARD MEMBERS WERE PRESENT, which would have to mean that Carol Kurdell and Candy Olson apparently aren’t even capable of being aware of their own calendars, much less serving on a school board.

In a campaign year with numerous challengers to the 3 school board seats we wonder if any of them will take issue with this type of double dealing and speak about it at this Tuesday’s June 24 school board meeting. Where are all these candidates? We hope they have more integrity than the sitting board members.

And have any of these candidates noticed how these four school board members have delayed this decision of HIRING AN AUDITOR on the eve of the school board meeting for the public hearing of the School board BUDGET which is scheduled for July 29? That is the way your dysfunctional school board operates for the benefit of the bloated administration downtown and not the students.

Stacy White should not be a school board member, much less a county commissioner.
