Whether coffee and beer becomes the next chocolate and peanut butter when it comes to amazing flavor combinations remains to be seen, but it’s an idea Starbucks believes enough in to give it a go.
That’s right, Starbucks is serving up a beer-flavored coffee, latte to be exact, in some of its stores. Dubbed the Dark Barrel Latte, the new drink is currently undergoing testing in “a handful of our stores in Ohio and Florida,” a Starbucks spokeswoman told Patch.
While she wouldn’t elaborate on which stores the test is taking place in, she did say the unusual latte “is topped with whipped cream and dark caramel drizzle and incorporates a chocolaty stout flavored sauce.” The new flavor reportedly tastes a whole lot like a Guinness.

“We’re looking forward to learning more from the test, but do not have additional information to share on future availability of this product in our stores,” she said.
It’s unclear how long the testing will take place.
