Tampa Bay Technical School Evacuated for Fire

The blaze was contained to a bathroom and was able to be put out without reported injuries.

Students at Tampa Bay Technical High School had an eventful Wednesday courtesy of a fire that broke out in one of the bathrooms.

According to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, a call came in about a commercial structure fire at the 5410 Orient Road school. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke coming from a bathroom.

The blaze was contained to that room and was able to be quickly extinguished, an email to media from the agency stated.

No one was injured in the fire. Students and faculty were evacuated prior to the department’s arrival.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation and further details are not yet available.
