Tampa Man Killed In Seffner Wrong-Way Crash
A Plant City resident was also seriously injured in the Friday morning accident.

SEFFNER, FL — A Friday morning wrong-way driving crash claimed the life of a Tampa man and sent another to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Dwight Bradley Thomas, 66, of Lakeshore Villas in Tampa, was heading westbound in the eastbound lane of Joe Ebert Road in the Seffner area around 5:50 a.m. Friday. At that time, Christopher Lee Turner, 32, of Plant City was heading east in the eastbound lane.
“Turner had just enough time to apply the brakes when he was struck head-on by Thomas,” the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.

The collision between Thomas’ Honda Accord and Turner’s Mitsubishi Galant killed Thomas, the sheriff’s office said. Turner was taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash is the latest in a string of wrong-way driving incidents in the Tampa Bay area. On March 13, Hillsborough County Deputy John Kotfila Jr. was killed in a similar crash on the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway.
