Taunting Cops on Facebook Makes Wanted Man Even More So

A $500 reward is now being offered for information that leads to the man's arrest.

When the Polk County Sheriff’s Office featured a man in its regular #FridayFelons Facebook post last week, officials probably didn’t expect to hear from him directly.

But, as it turns out, the man responded, taunting deputies in the process.

Logan Hale is wanted on felony burglary and gun charges, among others, but that didn’t stop him from posting “Lol can’t hurt much now,” about two hours after he was featured on the page. A short while later, Hale made a few more comments. By then, however, he had changed his user name to “Logan Finallyfree Hale.”

“Logan Finallyfree Hale – remaining ‘at large’ is only going to result in your having to change your FB name from ‘Finallyfree’ to ‘Back in Jail,’” the sheriff’s office fired back. “It would be wise for you to turn yourself in to the nearest PCSO facility. Or give us a call – we’ll be happy to provide transportation.”

Hale has not taken the sheriff’s office up on the offer.

On Thursday morning, the agency posted a reward offer for information that leads to Hale’s arrest.

“Finally Free just cannot be – Logan Hale belongs in jail,” the post began.

The sheriff’s office has teamed up with Heartland Crime Stoppers to offer a $500-plus reward in the case.

“Hale is facing charges of armed burglary, grand theft of a firearm, grand theft over $10,000 and dealing in stolen property,” the post continued.

Anyone with information on Hale’s whereabouts is asked to call 1-800-226-TIPS. Information may also be relayed via the www.heartlandcrimestoppers.com website.

“Anonymity is guaranteed,” the sheriff’s office promises.

Hale had not responded to the most recent post as of 11 a.m. Thursday.
