Teens Arrested In Armed Carjacking In Brandon

BRANDON, FL — Two teens have been arrested for taking part in an armed carjacking at 204 State Road 60 West, according to police.

On Tuesday around 11:20 p.m., deputies received a report of an armed carjacking. As officers were en route to the scene, they saw the victim’s vehicle traveling west on SR 60, pulling into the RaceTrac service station at SR 60 and Turkey Creek Road.

Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled and deputies began pursuing it. They deployed stop sticks at SR 60 and Valrico Road, which blew out the vehicle's tires. The vehicle came to a stop on SR 60 near Gornto Lake Road.

Police said a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were taken into custody.
