Suspected Thief's Kindle Selfie Could Lead to Arrest

Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies are hoping someone will recognize the suspected thief's self-portrait.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies are on the trail of a burglar they say took time out to snap a selfie on a recently swiped Kindle Fire tablet.

The woman’s picture was captured from the tablet shortly after it was stolen in an Aug. 19 burglary on Larsen Lane. The burglary took place sometime between 9 and 11:45 a.m. that day, Det. Larry McKinnon, sheriff’s office spokesman, said in an email.

Anyone who can identify the woman in the shot is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 813-247-8200. Tips eligible for a cash reward can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), reporting anonymously online at www.crimestopperstb.com or
texting “CSTB plus your tip” to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637).
