Thonotossasa Man Arrested In Homicide Of Neighbor

THONOTOSASSA, FL -- Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man in the homicide of a woman in Thonotosassa on Sunday.

Deputies were called to 9716 Ellison Road, Thonotosassa, around 8:09 a.m. March 17 by a neighbor, Samuel Parsons, 54.

When deputies arrived, Parsons was standing on the front porch. Deputies entered the home and found a woman dead of upper body trauma. After processing the crime scene and interviewing several people, deputies arrested Parsons and charged him with second-degree murder with a weapon.

Parsons is a registered sexual offender and has served 14 years in Florida State Prison for sexual battery of a victim under age 12, distribution of marijuana and failure to register as a sexual offender.

Deputies said they've responded to this home on prior occasions in 2018 for non-violent domestic disturbances but made no arrests.
