Troopers Looking for Black Truck In Fatal I-75 Hit-And-Run

A body was found on northbound Interstate 75 near Sun City Center Monday morning.

SUN CITY CENTER, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is asking motorists to keep a look out for a black truck that may have been involved in a fatal Monday morning hit-and-run on Interstate 75.

According to the agency, troopers were told there was a dead body located along I-75 near milepost 240 in the Sun City Center area around 11:07 a.m. When troopers arrived at the spot just after 11:30 a.m., they confirmed that report.

“FHP is currently searching for a black in color F150, F250 or Expedition type vehicle, possibly with a flat tire and damage to the right front of the vehicle,” an email from the agency to media stated.

At this time, troopers believe the 38-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released, was struck overnight and killed. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, leaving the pedestrian on the roadway’s shoulder.
