We started out with , and after weeks of polling to narrow down the field of players, has emerged the champion in Brandon Patch’s first-ever customer service competition.

Uncle Mike's edged by a final tally of 2,525 to 1,308 in the .

“I am just so excited,” said Simone Tolley, who with her husband, Michael, owns and operates Uncle Mike’s. “We’re only a year old, so to have such customers who have walked through this building, and that have given us such great comments, makes us believe that we’ve been doing something right in the short time that we’ve been here.”

For the Tolleys, the restaurant business is nothing new.

“We’ve always been in the restaurant business,” Simone Tolley said. “My husband’s been doing this for over 20 years. We just love being in the restaurant business. This is our third one, and the first one we’re running as just husband and wife, so we’re putting our hearts and souls into this business.”

Some might think that would put a strain on the marriage, but don’t fear for the Tolleys. What makes it work?

“Really, I think, in my opinion, I married the most amazing man on this planet,” Simone Tolley said. “He is just awesome, giving, understanding. We communicate, we’re best friends and we share a lot of interests together. We’re a great fit.”

As for the name, “Uncle Mike’s Smokehouse Grill” reflects the fact that Michael Tolley “is an uncle 46 times, with three more on the way,” Simone Tolley said. “We’re keeping our fingers crossed that we’ll ring in to the family number 50.”
