Wounded Veteran Welcomed Home to Mortgage-Free House

Florida Gov. Rick Scott and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal both attended the homecoming in Riverview.

Visala Tui doesn’t have worry about making mortgage payments any longer.

The former U.S. Army staff sergeant, who was wounded in action, has a brand new Riverview property to call his own thanks to Building Homes for Heroes.

Tui, his wife, Emma, and their four children were presented the keys to the home on Saturday. Florida Gov. Rick Scott, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and Building Homes for Heroes President Andy Pujol all attended the event.

Saturday’s homecoming began with a parade that included Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office vehicles, fire trucks, the University of South Florida ROTC and others.

The home was funded by Chase Bank.
