Wrong-Way Driver Causes Fatal U.S. 301 Crash
A 27-year-old man from Summerfield was killed in the Sunday night collision.

Update Aug. 11, 11:33 p.m.: The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the man who died as Larry Sillaway of Summerfield, Fla.

The Florida Highway Patrol says a Ford F-250 pickup truck traveling northbound in the southbound lane of U.S. 301 caused a crash that resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. Sunday night when the Ford, driven by Jesus Manuel Ronduelas, 27, of Tampa struck a 2006 Acura that was traveling southbound. The Acura’s driver died at the scene. His passenger, Dawn Marie Edgerton, 30, of Zephyrhills suffered minor injuries. Ronduelas also suffered minor injuries.
The name of the Acura’s driver has not yet been released. In an email to media, the Highway Patrol said the accident appears to be alcohol related. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
