Zephyrhills Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck By Car: Police

The 42-year-old woman died at a local hospital after she entered the path of an oncoming car on SR-574 and was struck.

BRANDON, FL – A 42-year-old Zephyrhills woman was killed Sunday morning after she was struck by a car while riding her bicycle, the Florida Highway Patrol announced.

The woman, who has not been identified, was hit by the car after police said that she traveled into the path of a car being driven by a 64-year-old Gibsonton man near the section of SR-574 and Williams Road at 10:35 a.m. on Sunday.

The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital, but later died from her injuries sustained in the crash, police said.
