The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA and Sarasota Family YMCA were selected to host the 2014 YMCA Gymnastics National Championships this summer. Following an Olympic-style opening ceremony at Raymond James Stadium on Wednesday, July 2nd, the gymnasts will compete inside the Tampa Convention Center Thursday-Saturday, July 3rd-July 5th. This is, by far, the largest meet of the season and it is something more than 2,000 gymnasts prepare for year round.
The national event is expected to draw over 6,200 athletes, spectators and visitors to the community resulting in a $4.5 million economic impact to the Tampa Bay area.
