• Animal advocates urge Hillsborough County commissioners to fund new shelter (fox13news.com) — Carrollwood residents are directly involved as Hillsborough County weighs funding a long-promised new pet shelter while also committing hundreds of millions to a new Rays stadium. Advocates, including a Carrollwood resident group member, packed a budget hearing urging commissioners to prioritize the aging, flood-prone shelter. A final vote on the 2027 county budget is set for September 24.
