β’ Animal advocates urge Hillsborough County commissioners to fund new shelter (fox13news.com) β A Carrollwood resident joined dozens of animal advocates in purple shirts urging Hillsborough County commissioners to fully fund a long-promised replacement for the aging, flood-prone pet shelter on Falkenburg Road. With hundreds of millions already committed to a new Rays stadium and only about $30 million left for community projects, commissioners insist the shelter upgrade will still move forward as they approach a final budget vote on September 24.
