Boater Drowns After Falling Into Lake George

CARROLLWOOD, FL -- A man drowned on Christmas Day after a boat overturned on Lake George in the Lake Magdalene area.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission said four people were on the 14-foot jon boat when it flipped over.

When Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene, three people were clinging to the overturned boat and a fourth person was missing.

The missing man was located by the sheriff's aviation unit and recovered by the sheriff’s dive team. He died at Florida Hospital.

His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
