Book Swap is Still Open for Business
Construction at the Village Center has some customers wondering if the store is still open.

Carrollwood and Northdale residents who have been concerned that Book Swap has closed its doors in the wake of ongoing construction at the Village Center have no cause for alarm.
The longtime, 13144 N Dale MabryΒ Highway, business is still around to serve.
Owner Cynthia Floyd says she does field phone calls from customers wondering if her store is still open for business.

After all, construction on the plazaβs southern end does make the store a little difficult to get to. Courtesy of ongoing renovations at the plaza, access to the extreme southern-end stores is only open via South Village Drive.
That means customers who are used to pulling in from Dale Mabry Highway have to take a different path. To complicate matters, the ongoing work does make some of the stores appear closed even though they arenβt.

Those are just growing pains, however, said Floyd.
βYou have to roll with the punches,β she said. βIt will all be worth it when itβs over with.β
Floyd said sheβs heard from a lot of customers since construction began on the plaza who arenβt sure how to get to her shop or are concerned that itβs closed.
βItβs been a challenge,β she said.
Floyd assures customers the Book Swap is open for business. Regular hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Construction on the plaza includes the demolition of the old Publix store and the rebuilding of a new one thatβs hoped to open in early 2014.
