Are You Spike TV or Are You Lifetime For Women?

Do you want to blend into the crowd OR do you want to stand out and catch the attention of prospective clients? I choose standing out!

I know what you're thinking..."Lisa, are you off your rocker?" Yes, but that's not important here! Mmmm-kay?

What I'm getting at is this. Who are you when you're out there doing business? Do you want to look like everyone else and blend in OR do you want to be true to yourself and show a little personality? I choose personality because I AM Spike TV. My personality is loud music, cage fighting, tattoos and motorcycles BUT I like a nice Chardonnay and water crackers with prosciutto and Grey Poupon and hydrangeas. What does that mean? That means I will probably stand out in a crowd and that I have my own voice, my own impression and my own image. Good for me because I'm in Marketing! I want to stand out.

"Well, Lisa, I'm a banker...I can't do all that. I have to look like someone you'll trust to take care of your money!" Ok, I get it. I'm not suggesting all bankers go out and get a tattoo of a hundred dollar bill on their forearam BUT I am suggesting that you find something that represents you and sets you apart from others. Do something a little bit different. I knew a banker a few years back and he DID wear the suit and tie and as far as I know he had no tattos and I never remember seeing him with a mohawk. What I DO remember is that while the man was dressed in a suit, it was always a bit out of the box. He was a fun guy with a great personality and man, could he take good care of your money AND he wore red socks or bow ties before they were cool, perhaps a bit of a different suit jacket. He definitely stood out!

It is not always beneficial for you to blend in or fit into the crowd. Figure out what's unique to you, what distinguishes you from the others and learn to stand out in the crowd.

I'd rather be remembered for standing out than forgotten for blending in.
