It's Who's Up Front That Counts

It's Who's Up Front That Counts - Why Darren Pena Salon thinks customer service is so important.

At Darren Peña Salon & Spa, social media takes on a whole new meaning!

You can see the difference right away. In fact, it’s discernible the moment you set foot in the door. What are we talking about? It’s that one thing every service-related business must create: That all-important favorable first impression!

Let’s be honest: No one wants service from an establishment that won’t take the time to create a great first impression. It’s critical to both that company’s success and your willingness to select their services above all others. This is especially true of any establishment with a hospitality perspective. No one wants to visit a spa or salon where you’re not made welcome immediately. That’s why at Darren Peña Salon & Spa, we start taking care of you the minute you walk through the door. But for more on creating that great first impression, I’m going to turn the blog over to Ashley Beale, my Social Media Manager and Hospitality Maven. Ashley?

Thanks, Darren. Hi everyone. Our Front Desk staff - we actually call them Social Media Specialists here - are charged with one- and only one- responsibility: Ensuring your comfort! Our Social Media Specialists work diligently to ensure that the expectations for your spa or salon visit are set right away. They should greet you by name, offer you a refreshing beverage and ensure that the services you requested are the services you receive. Our list of refreshing beverage is both lengthy and varied. You can choose from a selection that includes water, sodas, gourmet cappuccinos and lattes, wine and beer.

Here, we greet you as if we are hosting you in our home. By doing this, we communicate our family atmosphere and make sure you are comfortable during your visit. Our attention is focused on your needs and your well-being.

Among the things our Social Media Specialists provide are Wi-Fi codes, restroom information, help with directions to your next stop of the day or anything else you may require. They also pass on information about check-in specials, new services and the latest promotions. This includes our current promotion, a Referral Competition raffling off An Evening with Chef Terry featuring a flavorful, healthy, four-course organic, gourmet meal prepared in the winner’s home.

And yes, this same level of hospitality extends to how our team handles your calls to the salon and spa. Each specialist is polite, friendly and helpful. Darren and I require that each of them be knowledgeable about services and staff. They pay special attention to the needs of our guests, matching you with the right stylist based on availability, hair type, desired price range, experience level and personality.

Just as they work to create that great first impression, they also help reinforce the positive aspects of your visit here. As you prepare to leave, our Front Desk staff assists in reserving your next appointment, helps with retail questions or purchases, and handles guest payment. Most importantly, they thank you for your patronage, because we recognize it is a privilege to serve you.

Thanks, Ashley. We hope this gives you some insight into how hard we work to create that great first impression. Why? Because at my spa and salon, I believe you should expect a great first impression. I’m Darren Peña, and I’d love to hear what you think.

Yours in Style,

Darren
