Relocating a Photography Studio?

Newsome's Studio of Photography relocates to Main Street Plaza.

... it's sorta like changing Halloween costumes while riding a bicycle.

My wife Kaye and I just moved our photography studio into its fifth location in 26 years. You would think we'd have it down pat by now, but this was no doubt the most difficult move yet. This is the first time we've reduced the square footage, meaning we suddenly found ourselves having to decide what to keep and what to get rid of!

The move only slightly changed our address, about a mile south of our old location, yet still on Dale Mabry (now in Main Street Plaza with Mimi's Cafe & Michael's Grill).

Fortunately, a lot of great friends (you know they're "great" friends when they show up to help you move) made the heavy lifting easy, but the coordination it took to move without having to totally shut down the business for more than a few days was unbelieveable.

The office went first, the camera room went last. Setting up a camera room to be fully functional is often a weeks-long task in itself, but the pressure was on because we'd booked several studio sessions to be shot in the first two days we were officially open. It wasn't "fluid" but it was functional.

Now we've all but completed a few minor "move in" type tasks, and we're starting to finally settle in to our new diggs. I'm looking forward to many more great years serving the Carrollwood community and hope to see many of your smiling faces very soon.
