Carrollwood Pedestrian Killed in Crash

A 60-year-old woman is dead following a crash on Dale Mabry Highway near Floyd Road Monday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 1998 Mazda driven by Fernando Arce, 58, was heading southbound on Dale Mabry Highway in the outside lane just south of Floyd Road around 7:18 p.m. As he continued south, the woman began to walk west across the north and southbound lanes, walking into the Mazda’s path.

The car, a highway patrol report stated, struck the woman, who died at the scene.

No charges have been filed in the accident. The woman’s identity has not yet been released.
